AIB

  1. When the loan amount is over €25,000 the APR is 9.87%.  When the loan amount is less than €25,000 the APR is 10.33%.  To receive these rates, you must hold an AIB student current account when you apply and are approved for the loan. ^
  2. The maximum loan amount can vary dependent on your personal circumstances and guarantor.  Check with your bank directly. ^

Bank of Ireland

  1. The travel loan must be fully repaid within 9 months to avoid interest charges. Students can apply to restructure the travel loan into a standard student loan. This is a variable rate loan and the current rate is 11.90% APR. Where a repayment is not made on the due date, an interest surcharge of 0.75% per month (9% per year) subject to a minimum charge of €2.54 per month will apply to the amount in arrears. Please note interest surcharges apply in addition to the interest rate and are calculated on the uncleared statement balance. ^

The calculations shown above provide indicative estimates of repayments and cost of credit amounts only. Banks apply APR calculations in various ways. For comparison purposes, the NCA has adopted a standard approach across all institutions, meaning that slight variations may arise. You should always check directly with a provider to confirm the final repayment values applicable before selecting a financial product.
